Ah, the 5th gen of consoles. Honestly intrigues me more than the generation I was born into. The fledgling seeds of 3D gaming and the many consoles trying to figure out this new dimension. While the Saturn is more fascinating for the American angle, the 3DO's an intriguing footnote.

2 episodes in. I don't even know where to begin. But it's an anime where you can tell everyone from the animators to the sound designers, even voice actors are having fun. And what better anime for me to be watching on Pride Month? Part of me is sad this is only 12 episodes, because goddamnit I'd be watching this all year 'round if I could.

It took me almost 3 months of play, but I finally did it. There's an ample amount of side content for me to get around to after I take a several months, maybe a year or two break from it. But FF12 was pretty great! As my only proper completed FF to this point was 10, I gotta say... I loved 12's world building and setting a lot more than Spira! 12's greatest quality doesn't just lie in the gambit system, but Ivalice is wonderfully constructed as a setting.

My only flaws with it are that it drags on quite a bit and that some characters, namely Penelo, aren't written well. But FF12 kept me pretty engaged throughout. It makes me eager to revisit Trails in the Sky almost, as I never did finish FC and want to give that one a shot, now that I've gotten my fill of another slow burn political story. But that's a whole other ballpark to commit to. I've got Firelink Shrine to revisit in Dark Souls 3 and Gotham to tackle in Arkham Knight.

Had a chat with a buddy about games to tackle 4 months from now. Of the list, we settled on some real good ones, at least one has sat in my Steam library collecting dust for 2 years, but I got some ideas for what to play. Signalis being the aforementioned title, but then it snowballed into Parasite Eve, Silent Hill 2, and Eternal Darkness. Boy, that's gonna be a huge leap from the two games I played last year - one of which was a replay of a childhood favorite, the other the remake of Dead Space.
